FAQ: The Wyrmwood Modular Gaming Table: Coffee & Dining Models
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

Why are the reward tiers set up as fulfillment dates?

Hi, and welcome! Wyrmwood structures our Kickstarter campaigns using pledge levels as fulfillment waves. Most projects offer different reward levels, but since our campaign has hundreds of combinations of items you could pledge for, we use a different system. We have you back at a reward tier that gives you an estimated shipping time, and select your items later after the campaign ends in our pledge manager, BackerKit.

This allows everyone to have a good idea of when their orders will ship after the campaign, and allows us to plot our production ramp-up effectively.

How does this campaign work? How do I pledge?

Simply choose as a reward tier the closest available shipping date for your region, and make a pledge. You can pledge the minimum amount and adjust later, or figure out what you want to pledge first - either way, we STRONGLY suggest you use our Virtual Showroom tool: https://wyrmwoodgaming.com/modulargamingtable/

There are a lot of combinations and accessory options, and the Virtual Showroom makes it easy to visualize your table. It takes care of all the math, so you simply choose the options you like, and pledge the total shown there. All the pricing is available on the campaign page for reference, but the Virtual Showroom is your one-stop solution for planning out your table.

And besides, it’s a lot of fun!

How much should I add to my pledge for shipping?

We have posted shipping estimates to the campaign page, but we are NOT collecting shipping charges during the Kickstarter campaign and you should NOT include this amount in your pledge.

All shipping fees will be finalized in BackerKit after the campaign and charged there based on exactly what you’re ordering and where you are having your order delivered. We’ve done everything we can to make our estimates as accurate as possible, and we’ll update them throughout the campaign as we gather more information, but for now, please just be aware that after the campaign these fees will be due, but NOT before then. We’ll talk more about this in updates as the campaign proceeds.

Can I back for more than one table with a single pledge?

At this time, we are not placing limits on what you can pledge for. If this changes, we’ll definitely post about it in an update.

It’s important to note that Kickstarter does place limits on how much can be pledged by a single backer. If you’re hitting that limit, don’t worry - you’ll be able to add to your pledge in BackerKit after the campaign concludes.

What's this BackerKit pledge manager thing you keep talking about?

Good question! BackerKit is a system for collecting and verifying information about your pledge that Wyrmwood has utilized on nearly every campaign we’ve launched on Kickstarter over the years.

It imports your pledge information from Kickstarter, and then allows us to keep track of data from the moment the campaign ends right up until the last reward is shipped out. If that wasn’t enough, it ALSO allows us to send details surveys to collect all the information we need.

The system also allows you to select all of your items and verify you’ve pledged the right amount - and, if you pledged a bit less… or decide you really DO want those extra cup holders after all - no problem, you can even add to your pledge there.

We’ll detail much more about it in updates, especially towards the end of the campaign, but the key information is that it’s a critical tool that will greatly help us and you get the most from your experience with our campaign.

I have a question I don't see here.

We’ll be updating this section as the campaign progresses, but remember you can always reach out to us via direct message with any questions you may have. Simply click our profile avatar on the campaign page, and then click the “contact me” button to write a message. We will check and reply to every message - though it may take some time, rest assured we’re on it.

We are going to do our best to keep up with the comments section, as well, but given the size of the project, that section moves VERY fast, and it’s going to be very difficult to make sure we see and respond to everything there. So, if you have a question, please ask via direct message to ensure we see it and respond. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and support!

Why is this a 60 day campaign?

Historically, we’ve always run 30 day campaigns. We extended the deadline for this campaign for a few reasons. First, the goal is much higher than any of our prior campaigns. Second, this project is very important to the company and marks a real turning point for us, so the more time available to get it in front of different people, the better! Finally, a table isn’t quite the same as a Dice Vault or set of dice - this is a piece of furniture. It’s an important decision, and depending on the options one chooses, it can be a sizable investment. As such, we wanted to allow plenty of time for backers to consider their preferences, consult with their family members, and budget as needed to get exactly what they want.

We want you to enjoy your Modular Gaming Table for many years to come - it can grow and evolve with you over your lifetime. As such, we wanted to make sure you had the time to consider the options before making a decision, rather than feel pressured to choose quickly. It’s our hope that the process is an enjoyable one!

How does the Topper work? How does it stay on the table?

The Topper is what gives your Modular Gaming Table the ability to function as a standard table. It is available in sizes to match any size table, and comes as a set of detachable leaves. These leaves are held together via very strong rare earth magnets, and at the seams there’s tongue and groove construction that includes rubber gasketing, which creates a spill-resistant seal. You can dine on it safely, and not worry about a spill seeping through to the game underneath - the seal will trap spills long enough for you to safely remove the topper and deal with it. Finally, each of the end leaves have two rubber stoppers installed at the corners that snug up against the corners of the game vault, keeping the topper firmly in place until you want to remove it.

Is the felt durable? What if there's a spill on the gaming surface?

The felt we use is a sturdy, industrial-grade material. In the event of a spill, it shouldn’t be particularly prone to staining, and should hold up well to cleaning with mild detergents or even carpet cleaners. We’ll be running demonstrations of this later on.

In the event the surface WAS seriously stained or damaged somehow, we designed it to be easy to replace; the felt is completely removable, so you could either flip it to the reverse side once it was dry, or replace the felt altogether with a new play surface from us, which we’ll make available in the future.

If you really want to, you can also order a backup surface in the pledge manager post-campaign, and swap out the color of your felt for a fresh look from time to time. :)

What kind of warranty is there on the table?

Wyrmwood’s Craftsman’s Promise is our industry leading satisfaction guarantee, and we want you to be able to support the project with confidence.

The craftsmanship and materials of the Wyrmwood Modular Gaming Table are guaranteed against defects or errors, and faulty components will be replaced at no additional cost to you.

In addition, when accidents or conventional wear and tear occur, replacement parts will be available. This will ensure that you can easily purchase only what you need to, rather than having to order an entirely new table when the movers drop it, when your dog chews up a leg, or when life otherwise rolls you a “1”.

Last updated: August 12, 2020 09:26

How tall are the tables with and without a topper? What about legroom?

Measured from floor to topper surface, the heights are as follows: Coffee: 18” height (12” clearance) Dining: 31” height (25” clearance) Counter: 36” height (30” clearance) Bar: 42” height (36” clearance)

The topper is 3/4” thick, so to find the height of the arm rest, just subtract 3/4” from the overall height of the table above.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
